What it's about

The subject is the imprint a film leaves.

So we come back to what survived: why that scene, and why it is still there years later. The wonder, the chills, sometimes the childhood scare that never quite left.

The name

Super 8, the Amblin love letter (J.J. Abrams directing, Michael Giacchino on the score), plus hyper for the hype. And because hyper is the level above super. Cheh.

    The core format. One spectacle scene taken apart, from wonder to dread, down to what it leaves years later.

  • 2 salles, 2 ambiances

    A film against its own trailer. Two opposite takes, the promise versus what landed.

  • Le son de la hype

    A score or a composer. The BRAAAM, the fanfares, the themes that wreck you in three notes.

  • Post-Credits

    The free format, out of rotation: a debate, a top list, a hot take on the month's big release.
